Why, it's a major award!!!!

Several months ago, Aunt LovePicasso and Uncle Nonchalantsavant were trying to get me to enter some of my photographs into the creative arts contest at the State Fair of Texas. I promptly told them in my best imitation of Oda Mae, "Silly people." Most of the pictures I take are really pretty bad. Every once in a while I get a good shot via the gods of luck.

Last month I decided that I would humor them and go ahead and enter the fair's "pre-judged" photography contests. I already had a couple of pictures that I though were kind of nice and it was only $4.00 each to enter. What the heck. Lo and behold....I got a letter in the mail today telling me that I won 2nd place in the "Black and White: Texas Architectural/Features/Monuments/Buildings" category.

It will be on display until the end of the fair. I haven't been to the fair in years. I guess maybe I'll head over there this year and look at the other winners. Anyone who wants to come with us is welcome. We'll all get together and set a date to go out there. MMmmmmmm, fried things to eat......
