Getting Better Now

Yep, I'm able to walk around, drive, do all sorts of things now. I'm still just a bit sore but I'm going to live. I've been taking care of Oda Mae on my own now for a few days. I still have to be careful picking her up. I was supposed to have a DR's appointment yesterday afternoon, but he was called into emergency surgery, so I was canceled. I'm glad to know it wasn't MY emergency surgery.

I got a statement from the hospital yesterday. They said that they would be billing my insurance company. Ever wonder how much it cost to have your gall bladder taken out?......

Now you know.

I'm curious about the charge for "Material Management" for $6.32. Does that mean that they charged me $6.32 to "dispose" of my gall bladder. Geez, I would have taken it home in a jar and disposed of it my self to save 6 bucks.

Then you got the cost of the surgery itself. Now I KNOW I'm in the wrong business, but nooooooo. I had to go into the music business. I had to do something I already knew that I enjoyed. Couldn't go into pre-med or anything like that. I might not like it. Hindsight is 20/20 huh?

Anyway, I took the fam to Hurricane Harbor yesterday afternoon to pick up our season passes. They closed at 6pm. We got there at 5:55, so we'll go again Thursday or Friday. We're doing the water park this summer in lieu of The Little Gym. Also, Oda Mae is doing the Summer Reading program at the library. She is very excited about earning a book bag and other prizes for reading 20 minutes a day. We've found some really great books so far. I'll tell you about them some other time.

Dominus Vobiscum,

-OD

Surgical. And Surgery. Bwha-ha-ha! They charge us on two different lines like that because they think we won't notice that it's practically the same thing. That was they can also tell their benefactors that their surgeries "are less than $10,000." And they, whom did dare went to med-dee-a-school are quite sure we're way to stoopid to notice. ~gg~

I would have given you $10 for it. And then saved it for the Dirty Santa gift exchange.

THAT would be a Christmas to remember.

Material management = a fee like you see on your utility bill (sewer charge). Probably everybody gets charged for that.

Your price isn't too different from what it "actually" cost to have our 2nd baby. It was heavily discounted in the end, though, which was kind of enraging actually. 12000 --> 2000 just like that! It's amazing what goes on behind the scenes between health care people and insurance companies.
