Orange is the Color
The other day, before life began to end as we know it. I put my name into the hat (so to speak) for a "Bloggy Giveaway". I won and now, Oda Mae is expecting THIS in the mail in a few days.
Now, the reason we chose Tennessee was not because they are the best team or we really like them or anything like that. We chose them because their uniforms were the most orange. Like all good cheerleaders, we are mostly concerned with fashion and how we look. :) Oda Mae looks good in orange.
We'll take pictures when it comes in.
BTW: you should definitely go over to "Bloggy Giveaway" and post comments to win stuff. No shipping or anything!

Uh, ohhhh....
The good thing is that Oda Momma is okay. She has some soreness in her neck/shoulder and hand, but hopefully will be fine.
The car (1997 Toyota Corolla w/ nearly 200,000 miles) that was completely payed off was not so fine...
Currently, we're going through the whole "Insurance" process, but I don't have a good feeling. Looks like we may be car shopping next week.
Yep.... "Repairs to 97 TOYOTA COROLLA Details: Vehicle has been deemed a total loss"

Oda Mae's first day of school...
Monday morning I packed her lunch...
PB&J, Goldfish Crackers, Apple Slices, Animal Crackers, and Juice.
After a little photo shoot, we said goodbye to Oda Momma and headed out the door. Oda Mae was very excited. When we got there I signed her in and off she went to her class. When she went in she was off into her own little world. I tried to get her to come back and give me a hug and kiss, but she said, "Daaaaaad, GO! You're crampin' my style." I gave her a hug and kiss anyway and told her I'd be back after nite, nite.
All morning I kept waiting for the PDO Director to call me to come get her. Nothing happened. I did however get the house cleaned up and managed to watch a photography video. 1:45 came waaaay too fast. I had to go pick her up.
When I got there she was going potty. When she came out she ran up and gave me a big ol' hug. That was one of the best hugs I've ever had! Her teacher said that she did very well. She didn't cry except while she was asleep. ?????????????????? And she didn't really talk. After her teacher gave her some sweet tarts, I told her to tell her teacher thank you. When she did her teacher said, "That's the first thing she's said all day!" They were also surprised that she is already potty trained. Kudos to us!
All-in-all the first day was a success!

Oda Mae's Tiger
Just the Facts...
-I've been awake for just over an hour.
-Oda Mae did not wake me up. Just opened my eyes and there I was, wide awake.
-Oda Mae did however call "Daden, Daden, Daden, Daden" progressively getting louder about 15 minutes ago.
-There was nothing wrong, just covered her up and came back.
-I've gone through all of my late night surfing links, blogs, etc., checked on the bank account (
-I'm still not sleepy.
-I'm gonna be sleepy........:(
-Probably gonna go read.
-If I go back to bed I'll probably lay there for at least 30-45 minutes with some horrible "Toddler Tune" stuck in my head.
-All of this is NOT a rare occurrence; I usually just don't post about it.
-Maybe I'll start. Might be a fun adventure. Maybe I'll see you all again tomorrow night as well.
Sweet dreams,

Ringworm....ringworm....aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Today we went to the Dr. to find out what it was. Turns out to be ringworm. Consequently, ringworm has nothing to do with worms. (I was secretly disapointed...bummer.) It's just a fungus that she could have gotten anywhere. We got some free cream and hopefully she'll be good as new in no time at all.
I got my blood test and have to go back Tuesday morning between 8 and 9 (DON'T LET ME FORGET!) to get the results. This was for my fungus, but you don't want to know about that!

Tomatoes, Trips, and Togas
The other day, I tried my hand at making some homemade tomato soup. Real tomatoes and everything. I have to say, if you've never made your own and have only eaten the canned stuff; you're missing out! That stuff was gooooooooood. We also had three cheese grilled cheezy samiches to go with it. Double gooooooood.
Today Oda Mae and I went to tour a parents day out program at a church near us. It was really nice and the people were friendly. There were only 6 kids in her class and two teachers watching after them. We're going to sign up and start going 9-2 on Mondays. This parent can't wait to have a day out! Oda Mae was playing with the kitchen with some other little kids when we had to leave. She was not happy. I think she'll enjoy being social and stuff. In honor of starting a pre-school we had a toga party the other day. CHECK IT OUT!
Looking forward to a restful weekend. Before that though, Oda Mae and I both have Dr. appointments tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Photo Shoot Gone Bad
Some of the shots I got were pretty fun (they just look like crap up close). The best one for the evening made its way to AREA 365. See next post. ;)
This week Oda Mae started "School" again. Our theme for the first week was "Cows". Tomorrow morning after breakfast we'll finish off by making a cow out of squares (that was the shape of the week). I'll post a picture of it here for all to see. Our favorite cow book this week was "Calico Cows" by Arlene Dubanevich. Nice little story about the leader cow, Bertha, who goes to the fair. All of her cow friends get into trouble while she's gone.
Time to go to bed now and see how many cows pop up in my dreams tonight.

Trying to get going again...
Before we go any further, I have to admit that I thought all of the really stupid people in the world had gone away...
See the little girl in the back seat of the pick-up behind me? These two ladies were just driving along behind me when I noticed the little girl. She was not in any kind of car seat or seat belt. I know this because she was constantly jumping up and down and going from one side of the truck to the other. Now, maybe it was a friends truck and they didn't have a car seat with them. Okay. Seat belts?!!!! How bout one of those stupid ladies sit in the back seat with the kid and make sure she doesn't fly out the window in case of a wreck? I'm all for a rule that says that some people should not be allowed to have children.
Okay, I'm done.
Did I mention that Oda Mae is now fully potty trained? Woo Hoo!!!!!! She's been doing very well for at least 2 or 3 weeks now. She had an accident last weekend, but she was too shy around some new people to tell anyone she needed to go. We haven't had a bed wetting at all and she is really good at telling us when she needs to go. Now if she'll learn to hold it over night. She comes in once or twice a night while banging our bedroom door against the wall (very loudly) and whispers, "Daden, I need to go tee tee..." Thanks Oda Mae for being so polite and not shouting.
More next time.
